Bio:
Cullen seeks to uncover the universal truths which fuse all human experience. By insisting on a lifestyle and artistic process marked by empathic kindness he is able to shed and rearrange his inherent biases, thereby gaining a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the people and communities he visits. These visits, taken in aggregate, calm the chaotic tides which churn and veil the underlying truths residing below the surface of our perceptions.
He considers himself an observer and a vessel. As such, it's impossible for him to pass judgements and still produce work worthy of viewing. A great joy of his is a certain moment of recognition between himself and a stranger. In this moment personal autonomy breaks down in favor of a resilient connection which momentarily survives the lifting of a lens.

Bio
Cullen Granzen is an editorial and commercial photographer, based in Toronto, Canada — but I'll take any opportunity to travel!
When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me volunteering at my local humane society, exploring national parks, or spending time with my family.

My work focuses on capturing a moment in time, whether it's portraiture, lifestyle imagery, or just the perfect light.
Always experimenting with new techniques, I'm equally comfortable with analog and digital technologies, and use both according to the needs of the project.
